Subject: Opera premiere is a Love Letter to Healthcare Workers
From: Nimisha Joshi

You are receiving this message from a Chicago Cabaret member...
I'm eager for our cabaret audience to join us this weekend when Working In Concert's Bellissima Opera offers the world premiere of "On Call: COVID-19".

As its key producer, I knew the libretto (book and lyrics) by fellow member Christine Steyer was powerful, but when my husband and I watched the preview a few days ago, I was blown away. From the moment composer David Shenton's music began with Gwendolyn Brown's opening aria we leaned in, found ourselves holding hands, tears in our eyes, deep sighs of sympathy and solidarity. It's such a love letter to health-care workers and, even more, it's proof that music delivered in an intimate and personal way (even through a streaming media) has the power to lift us up and bring us together.

Join us for the world's first full-length "Zoom opera"
