Songs That Found Me-Steve Brammeier
About this event
After successful performances at Blue Strawberry in St.Louis and Don’t Tell Mama in NYC, I’m delighted to be traveling to Chicago and performing at Davenport’s.
I sing and tell stories about the songs that “found me” for a reason, connecting
with significant times and events in my life; songs that range from “The Blizzard” by Judy Collins to a tweaked version of Cole Porter’s “My Heart Belongs to Daddy.”
I am fortunate to have worked with several award wining talents on this
show: LIna Koutrakos as director, the late Rick Jensen for the majority of the musical direction and arrangements, Patrick DeGennaro who graciously stepped in as musical director with the untimely passing of Rick Jensen, plus additional arrangements by Beckie Menzie and Gregory Toroian. I excited that for this show, Beckie Menzie will also accompany me on the piano.
“A born crooner, Brammeier used his voice beautifully….(he) delivered this rangy song without a hint of the vocal calisthenics it surely demanded of him. It simply flowed from his heart.” Katie McGrath, Cabaret HotSpot
“…a powerful and reassuring stage presence that makes us all want to listen and attend” Jim Dolan, Owner and Producer, Blue Strawberry, St. Louis, MO
“He has a light baritone with a rough-hewn touch that reminded me of some of the notable folk-rock singer/songwriters of the 1960s, such as Gordon Lightfoot and Cat Stevens (now known as Yusuf Islam).” Chuck Lavazzi, Critic for KDHX, St. Louis, MO and Cabaret Scenes Magazine
$20 Cover plus 2 drink minimum.
