FIRST UP: Best Practices – Making the Most of Rehearsal Time
with David Meulemans
DATE/TIME:
Saturday, April 11, 1 – 3 p.m.
VENUE: The Hospitality Room at 4300
North Marine Drive (Limited guest parking is available.)
Program:
This two-hour
workshop focuses on making the most of rehearsal time. There are many
types of rehearsals, and each will be addressed at some level, acknowledging
that not all techniques work for all individuals, and that there are several
factors that impact the nature of rehearsing, whether on one's own, with a
music director, with a band, or with an ensemble. The workshop is intended to
be collaborative in nature, drawing on the experiences of the participants and
the facilitator, David Meulemans. Objectives include capturing "best
practices" to benefit all skill levels to provide insight on what "to
do" as well as what "not to do," with each participant leaving
with a personalized tool-box of ideas they feel would bring more value to their
rehearsals.
