Biography
CATHERINE Thomson was reviewed in Cabaret Scenes as “…a cabaret artist to watch. Not only does she sing like a canary and move like a cat, she gets the art of cabaret and thus is, above all, a wonderful story teller.” Catherine has created several successful solo cabaret shows, but also enjoys collaborating with fellow artists. Catherine and Anita Kallen have a long-running partnership beginning with their sold-out Davenport’s run of Dangerous Women in 2011 and continuing to this day with their HERstory series, which includes The 19th Amendment and the Power of the Vote!, which began in a sold-out live performance at Davenport’s in 2019 and later became a long-running virtual performance filmed at the Skokie Theatre in 2020 and broadcast nationwide throughout the pandemic, and Trailblazing Female Firsts which debuted to standing ovations at Davenport’s Cabaret in March 2022. Other collaborations include the sold-out celebration concert Bernstein at 100: Songs of Love and Longing at the Skokie Theatre in 2018, featuring vocal quartet and piano. Catherine has performed in musicals and plays around Chicagoland, as well as in many Chicago Cabaret Professionals reviews and galas.
