Our September Open Mic will be on Monday, September, 14 in Rhapsody’s Front Bar, 1328 W. Morse Avenue from 7 pm to 9:00 pm with Andrew Blendermann at the piano. You do not need to be a member to attend, only to perform. No cover charge! We have created an atmosphere where CCP members of all experience levels can stop by and have a chance to see each other, maybe sing a song, have a drink. We are encouraging both those emerging cabaret artist members or the more experienced singers to join us, visit and share together. The only requirement to sing is to be a member. While we do encourage singers to mention prior to performing where you might be seen next, we ask that you refrain from distribution of any printed promotional materials. French-Cameroonian vocalist and songwriter Suzie Telep presents "Paris–Douala–Chicago: A Jazz & Diaspora Journey", a multilingual concert tracing her musical and personal path between France, Cameroon, and the United States. Blending jazz, soul, French chanson, and Afro-diasporic traditions, she sings in French, English, Basaa, Creole, and more, weaving rhythm and storytelling into an intimate, cross-cultural experience. A former presence on the Paris jazz scene at venues such as 38 Riv’ and Péniche Marcounet, Suzie now brings her powerful voice and narrative-driven stage presence to Chicago audiences. Her repertoire moves fluidly between jazz standards, Afro-grooves, and original compositions shaped by memory, heritage, and improvisation. Barb Bailey stars in The Night That Never Was: Stories & Songs, a live television pilot taping produced by Barry Edwards Productions LLC.

This unpredictable evening combines music, stories, fantasy, surprises and audience participation. Joining Bailey will be guest performers David Meulemans, Jeffrey Segal, Tim Borden and Jay Collen.

Guests will become part of the live studio audience, and some audience members may even be invited onto the stage. Audience members are invited to dress as though they are attending a Fantasy Ball, although fantasy attire is completely optional.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

VIP admission is $45 and provides seating closest to the stage. General admission is $30. Free parking is available for up to 100 cars.
