ABOUT THIS SHOW
City Winery hosts the first in-person performance of “3 Martini Jeannie.” Through the pandemic, every Friday at 5pm, Jeannie celebrated the close of each stressful week with live music via Facebook, performing audience requests and sharing martini recipes. When shows could be safely performed outside, Jeannie was joined by longtime musical collaborators Stacy McMichael (bass) and Derek Henderson (drums).
May 20 brings Jeannie’s trio to the City Winery stage performing a diverse repertoire of covers including songs by artists such as Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Camila Cabello and Norah Jones; along with a few jazz standards, R&B classics and her original songs. Joining the band are two special guests: Abigail Riccards (vocals/piano) and Lisa McQueen (piano). Jeannie will also be taking a few audience requests.
Jeannie Tanner is an award winning composer with 8 Grammy® considered albums and 5 ASCAP composer awards. She is a vocalist, piano player, trumpeter, percussionist, songwriter and producer who performs and records her original music, a mix of jazz, pop and R&B. Jeannie’s music has been used for many TV/film projects including Single Ladies (VH1 - produced by Queen Latifah), Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert (PBS/The Travel Channel), Revenge (ABC), Real Wives of Beverly Hills (Bravo), Fox NFL Kickoff and Days of Our Lives (NBC). Her music has been featured in many Hallmark movies including A Christmas Duet, Christmas Cookies and Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas.
Working through the pandemic, Jeannie released a new single/video “I Wanna be the Change” which was Grammy® considered (on the first round ballot) in 4 categories, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Video. She composed the music for a new web series called Bong Zombies, available now on Amazon Prime; and wrote the score for an hour long documentary for Preservation Chicago and the Sarah Belle Wilson House, a City of Chicago landmark.
